JAGUARS OPEN 2005 SUN BELT CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP WITH 3-0 SHUTOUT OF FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL

MOBILE, Ala. – Sun Belt Soccer Tournament host South Alabama is hot. The No. 3 seed Jaguars (11-4-1, 6-2-0 SBC) improved their winning streak to an impressive seven games as they routed No. 6 seed Florida International 3-0 Wednesday night at "The Cage."

USA got the scoring going early as Tiffanie Stewart setup Tanya Allegretti
for a goal 10 minutes into the first half. USA's Rebecca Kahn then netted
another goal at the 24 minute mark to put the Jaguars up 2-0. In the second
half, Kelly Tarrant knocked in USA's third goal off an assist from
Allegretti.

The Jaguars have scored 14 combined goals in their last two matches as they
put up 11 against Alabama State last weekend.

USA advances to face No. 2 seed Middle Tennessee in Thursday night's
semifinals. The Blue Raiders are coming off of 1-0 double overtime win
against Troy.

FIU ends its season with a 4-7-5 record (2-4-1 SBC) and will return to Miami
for the first time since Hurricane Wilma came ashore in South Florida.
