ALABAMA KICKS OFF SOCCER SEASON WITH ALUMNI GAME
Former Players Return for Annual Event

Ala. - South Alabama head women's soccer coach Mike Varga
announced the 2005 Alumni Game will be Saturday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m.,
at The Cage. A number of former players will be back on campus to
take on the current team in a friendly exhibition match.
"It is
always very important for the new players and current team to see
the history of the program," Varga said. "I can't thank
the former players enough for coming back and participating in this
game. It gives us an opportunity to catch up with the alumni and
their lives
after South Alabama."
In conjunction
with the Sun Belt Conference's 30th Anniversary, South Alabama has
announced its All-Time Women's Soccer Team, Thursday. The team features
14 former players and two current players from the school's 11-year
women's soccer history. The women's soccer program
began at USA in 1994 and has distinguished itself as one of the
more competitive programs in the Sun Belt Conference. USA began
playing women's soccer in the Sun Belt in 2000.
