MOBILE, Ala. - The South Alabama women's volleyball team will take on cross-town rival Spring Hill Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in its final non-conference home match of the season at Jag Gym.

The contest between the two clubs had originally been scheduled to be played at Spring Hill on Nov. 9, but was changed due to facility issues.

"I'm excited that we are going to have an opportunity to play at home again," said South Alabama volleyball head coach Nicole Keshock. "Although we didn't win our last two matches, I have saw both individual and team improvements in both matches. Playing Spring Hill is always a competitive match and I expect it to be tomorrow night as well."

South Alabama (7-17, 1-10 SBC) is coming off an 0-2 weekend in conference play, falling 3-1 at Denver on Friday and 3-0 to North Texas on Sunday. The Lady Jags continue to be led offensively by Via Filipe and Whitney Sanders. Filipe is leading the club in total kills (292) and kills per game (3.70), while Sanders is second on the club in both categories but leads the team in hitting percentage (.267). Summer Pilgrim is a force in the middle with a team best 90 total blocks and 1.02 per game, which ranks seventh in the Sun Belt.

Spring Hill enters the match up with South Alabama with a 19-8 overall record and for the third year in a row captured the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference title with a 3-0 victory over the University of Mobile on Nov. 1. The Badgers ended the season with a 5-0 conference mark with the victory and are 13-0 in GCAC play the past two seasons.

South Alabama and Spring Hill will meet for the 11th time on Tuesday. The Lady Jags hold a dominant 8-2 lead in the all-time series. Last year, the two clubs met for the first time since 1979 with the Jags winning 3-1 at Jag Gym. After winning a nail biter in game one, 32-30, USA dropped the second game, 30-26, but rallied back to capture the next two games, 30-28 and 30-22 respectively.
