ATHENS, Ga. - Hugo Thyr closed his collegiate career at the NCAA Athens Regional where the senior finished T-28 following Wednesday's final round with a total score of 211 (-2).

The opening round at UGA Golf Course saw Thyr card a 1-over par 72, followed by firing a 69 (-2) in round two to bring his total to 1-under after 36 holes. The 69 on the scorecard on Moving Day marked Thyr's 16th round in the 60's this season, before his final 18 holes as a Jaguar signed off a 70 with seven birdies on the round (-1).

Thyr wraps up his four-year Jaguar career leaving his mark in the record books, where he etched his name as the top stroke average in program history this season (69.83). Thyr also holds the program record for lowest tournament individual total, when he shot 64-67-66 (-16, 197) at the 2025 Mobile Bay Intercollegiate and won the tournament before he won it again in 2026 with a 199 total (-14).

The Lidköping, Sweden native is just one of two players in Sun Belt Conference history to win the individual title at the Sun Belt Conference Championship twice, and the first to do it in nearly 40 years (Alan Schulte, ODU, 1984-85) when he claimed the crown in his freshman and sophomore campaigns.

The two Sun Belt Conference Championship wins in 2023 and 2024 garnered NCAA Regional appearances those seasons, before he received an at-large bid his junior season in 2025. The appearance at the NCAA Athens Regional in 2026 with another at-large bid inks Thyr's name as the only Jaguar in program history to make four regional appearances. Thyr was the second seeded individual of 10 in the tournament after earning First Team All-Conference honors this season.
