MADISON, Miss. - South Alabama men's golf snuck into the top-four on the team leaderboard following the conclusion of 54-hole stroke play at the Sun Belt Championship (-1). The semifinal match play round is set for 9:30 a.m. (CT).
After a long day of lightning delays amid Wednesday's final stroke play round, darkness suspended play for remaining players and was postponed until 7:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
Hugo Thyr had one hole to play and needed par to stay one stroke ahead of James Madison to advance. Thyr buried the 10 footer to advance the team to the semifinal.
The fourth seeded Jaguars in the match play portion face-off with tournament leaders Coastal Carolina. Winning the 18-hole match would send the Jags to a final round of match play for a chance at the tournament crown.
The tournament coverage continues on SCOREBOARD by Clippd and ESPN+.
