KALAMAZOO, Mich. – South Alabama women's basketball (9-13, 2-10) will face Western Michigan (6-14, 3-7) in the second round of the MAC-SBC Challenge at 12 p.m. CST on Saturday at University Arena in Kalamazoo, Mich.
SERIES HISTORY:
Saturday's match-up will mark the first time in program history that the Jaguars will face the Broncos.
SCOUTING THE JAGS:
- South Alabama travels to Kalamazoo after a 69-60 loss to Marshall on Wednesday. Amyah Sutton scored 19 points and grabbed a career-high seven rebounds.
- Cordasia Harris ranks in the national top-30 in double-doubles (10), offensive rebounds per game (3.7) and field goal percentage (55.7).
- Since Jan. 24, the Jaguars have averaged 15.0 turnovers per game, six fewer than their previous season average of 21.4.
- A win would give the Jaguars their first 10-win season since 2020-21.
- South Alabama beat Akron in the first round of the MAC-SBC Challenge on Nov. 2, 2025, winning 87-63.
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS:
- Western Michigan hosts the Jaguars after a road loss to Ohio on Wednesday, 76-37.
- The Broncos rank 10th in the Mid-American Conference behind Bowling Green.
- Kailey Starks leads the Broncos in points per game, averaging 11.75. D'Myjah Bolds has also made an impact with the program, averaging 5.50 rebounds per game and totaling 16 blocks.
- App State beat the Broncos in the first round of the MAC-SBC Challenge, winning 65-45.
