MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama women's basketball (9-12, 2-9) will host Marshall (18-6, 9-3) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Mitchell Center in Mobile, Ala. A Jaguar win would give the program its first 10-win season in five years.
SERIES HISTORY:
The Jaguars are 0-3 against the Thundering Herd, their last match-up a 73-59 deficit in the Sun Belt Tournament on March 4, 2025, in Pensacola, Fla.
SCOUTING THE JAGS:
- South Alabama hosts the Thundering Herd after an 88-52 road loss to James Madison on Saturday.
- Also against JMU, Chrysta Narcisse grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds. Similarly, Alicia Spann set a season-high in points (8) and tied her career-high in rebounds (8).
- Across the Jags' last two games, Daniela Gonzalez went 6-for-6 from the charity stripe, leading the nation in free-throw percentage for the week.
- Ronaltha Marc is three shy of reaching 100 career steals.
SCOUTING THE THUNDERING HERD:
- Marshall travels to Mobile after a dominant win over Louisiana on Saturday, 95-54. Timaya Lewis-Eutsey led the Thundering Herd, scoring 24 points.
- Lewis-Eutsey has dominated in league play, averaging 21.3 points per game. For the season, she leads the team in points per game (18.1), assists (95) and steals (85).
- Marshall currently ranks fourth in the Sun Belt behind Arkansas State, Troy and Georgia Southern.
