STARKVILLE, Miss. – South Alabama men's tennis fell to No. 5 Mississippi State by a score of 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon. The Jaguars fell to 2-5 for the year with the defeat.

• Jovanovic (MSST) def. Hannig (USA) 6-4, 4-6, 6-3
• Martinez Serrano (MSST) def. Caby (USA) 6-2, 6-1
• Hernandez Cortes (MSST) def. Frumholz (USA) 7-6 (7-4), 6-2
• Ferrer Guimaraes (MSST) def. Bouyacoub (USA) 6-2, 3-6, 6-1

NOTABLE

• The Jaguars are now 1-8 against the Bulldogs all-time.
• Braden Hannig and Harold van Raemdonck's doubles draw against Jovanovic/Sanchez Martinez went unfinished due to the Bulldogs clinching the doubles point.

QUOTABLE
"We knew that Mississippi State was going to come out very aggressive – they're fifth in the nation. In doubles, we got a little surprised and frozen on how hard they were hitting and how much they were going after us. Going into singles, we told the guys to establish their game and relax, and I think they were completely different. We had three matches go into a third set, so it became a very close match on some courts, which was impressive against some of the best players in the nation. We're going ot go home and practice hard for the next few days and get ready for UAB on Saturday" -Nick Brochu
