LAFAYETTE, La. – South Alabama women's basketball earned the program's first Sun Belt victory of the season by defeating Louisiana 81-56 on Saturday.
KEY MOMENTS:
- Within the first five minutes of the quarter, graduate forward Cordasia Harris went 3-for-3 in the paint, sending South Alabama to a 12-6 lead.
- The Jaguars had an impressive first quarter, recording two 12-0 runs against the Ragin' Cajuns. They would go on to record a 28-point quarter, their best since Dec. 4, 2025.
- In the second quarter, Chrysta Narcisse would score back-to-back three-pointers after two missed layups by the Ragin' Cajuns.
- Late in the third quarter, the Jaguars reached their highest lead of the night when Ronaltha Marc went 2-for-2 from the charity stripe.
KEY STATS:
- Tonight's 21-point victory over the Ragin' Cajuns marked the Jaguars' largest margin of victory in league play since Feb. 8, 2020, when they defeated ULM 73-39. It was also the first January victory since the 2022-23 season.
- Chrysta Narcisse, the Lafayette, La. native, put on a show for her hometown, shooting 5-for-6 from the field and 4-for-5 from beyond the arc.
- Four Jaguars scored double-figures tonight, including Chrysta Narcisse (18), Diawna Carter-Hartley (11), Tamara Ortiz (10) and Cordasia Harris (22), who also grabbed 13 rebounds to mark her seventh double-double of the season.
