• South Alabama (4-3) enters the midweek contest versus the Bulldogs after posting a pair of wins at the Jaguar Invitational, extending its win streak to three
• The Jags opened the weekend with a 3-0 sweep of previously unbeaten Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday, and then picked up a four-set victory over Tulane on Saturday

Cambria Gaier averaged 5.14 points per set and 4.14 kills per set in South's two matches, while she also hit .389 and averaged 0.71 aces per set and a .958 serving percentage
• Offensively, the Jags are led by
Sarah Gooch who is averaging 3.20 kills per set
• Gaier is also averaging 2.92 kps and the freshman leads South with 15 aces and is tied for third in the Sun Belt with 0.60 aces per set
• Gaier is also 10th in the league in points with 3.76 per set
• On the defensive side of the net, South is second in the Sun Belt with 2.54 blocks per set and second in the league in aces (1.92)
• Redshirt freshman
Alexa Strandberg as the Copley, Ohio, native has 32 total blocks this fall, including 12 solo blocks, and is tied for third in the SBC with 1.28 per set

Briana Wilson is averaging 4.48 digs per set, which ranks third in the league

SERIES NOTES VS. MISSISSIPPI STATE
• The meeting will mark the 16th time the two clubs have met in the series all-time series
• Mississippi State holds a 10-5 advantage in the series and has won the last two, both on the Bulldogs' home floor
• South is 1-5 in the series in Starkville with that lone win coming during the 2014 season, a 3-0 victory
• This season's meeting will mark the first between the two teams since 2022
• The initial series meeting came back during the 1982 season, a 2-1 win by the Jags in Columbus, Miss.
A QUICK LOOK AT THE BULLDOGS
• Mississippi State (9-0) enters the match up versus South after defeating Mercer in straight sets on Saturday and then Sun Belt member Southern Miss in four sets on Sunday
• Seven of the Bulldogs' nine wins have been in straight sets this fall
• Lindsey Mangleson has led MSU offensively this season with 4.92 kills per set and a .393 attack percentage
• As a team, Mississippi State is hitting .316 and averaging 14.37 kills per set, while limiting opponents to a .131 attack percentage
