MOBILE, Ala – South Alabama Athletics is preparing to be on the forefront of the evolving landscape of college athletics by launching the Loyal, Strong & Faithful Fund to maximize its revenue-sharing opportunities in a commitment to its student-athletes. The purpose of the fund is to elevate South Alabama Athletics by providing the resources needed to recruit and retain championship-level student-athletes.
 
Inspired by the words of the school's beloved fight song, the Loyal, Strong & Faithful Fund reflects the unwavering pride, strength, and dedication that defines what it means to be a South Alabama Jaguar. By investing in its student-athletes and equipping its coaches with the tools necessary to build and sustain a culture of competitive excellence, the fund ensures that South Alabama has the championship resources to compete at the highest levels.
 
"The creation of the Loyal, Strong & Faithful Fund represents the continued evolution of collegiate athletics," said Director of Athletics Dr. Joel Erdmann. "We need to recognize the early efforts of Mark Spivey and his team of volunteer leaders who created the Jags Impact Collective in 2022.  At that time, the university had to be at arm's length from the NIL process. Moving forward, the university can now oversee the collection and distribution of funds. We will not only pursue contributions, but will also organize fundraising events and explore creative means of generating revenue streams for the fund. All Jaguar supporters are encouraged to support the fund as it directly impacts our ability to maintain the level of excellence we all expect."
 
Donations to the Loyal, Strong & Faithful Fund are tax-deductible and will directly support Jaguar student-athletes. Gifts can be given to either the general fund or to a specific sport program, but not to a specific student-athlete. The fund will replace the previous fundraising efforts of the Jags Impact Collective through TheLinkU. South Alabama Athletics will continue to support the facilitation of true NIL partnerships and provide student-athletes with the necessary educational resources to maximize their opportunities in this space. Donors who wish to support South Alabama's recruiting and retention efforts are strongly encouraged to do so by giving directly to the Loyal, Strong & Faithful Fund.
