Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

Jaguars Fall to Marshall on the Road

HUNTINGDON, W.Va.- South Alabama women's tennis fell to Marshall in Huntingdon Sunday morning in a 4-0 final.

The loss drops the Jaguars to 10-3 on the season while making their conference record 2-1.

After dropping the closely-knit doubles point, the Jaguars engaged in a close battle in the singles match. Despite their best efforts, South struggled for the remainder of the match. Kenza Elakili's proved to be the closest  but ultimately fell after dropping her first set 6-4 before dropping the match.

"Tough break going indoors but credit to Marshall playing a clean indoor match", said head coach Dr. Jaco Keyser. "I thought we had a window of opportunity in doubles and late in singles to potentially flip the match but unfortunately we could not capitalize. I think we return a better team after this trip and that's the goal to every day get a little bit better and hopefully peak when it matters most".
