Box Score STARKVILLE, Miss.- The Jaguars suffered a tough 4-0 loss at the hands of Mississippi State in Starkville Friday afternoon.
The loss dropped South Alabama to 4-2 on the season.
The Jaguars battled hard against the Bulldogs, with several matches coming down to the wire but unfortunately came up short.
Delien Kleinhans and
Rio Maeda managed to grant South it's lone victory as they downed their opponents in a 6-4 final.
"Always tricky playing indoors but that's a challenge we need to overcome in order to grow into the team we want to be" said Head Coach Jaco Keyser. "Great competitiveness and fight from the girls but that's to be expected and not something that needs to be congratulated. With regards to the overall quality of play, I definitely don't think today was the best version of ourselves but at least our intent and fight will keep our head above water until we figure out sustained execution of the basic fundamentals. A great opportunity on Sunday to bounce back against a solid Samford squad".
South will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Birmingham to face Samford for an 11:00 AM match on Sunday.
