MONROE, La. – South Alabama women's basketball (7-5, 0-2) will face ULM (5-6, 0-2) at 1:30 p.m. on New Year's Day at Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Monroe, La. A Jaguar victory would mark the program's first in Sun Belt action.
SERIES HISTORY:
The Jaguars are 23-13 against the Warhawks, with their last meeting resulting in a 73-68 victory on Feb. 8, 2025, at the Mitchell Center.
SCOUTING THE JAGS:
- The Jaguars seek their first league win of the season after a 74-61 deficit to Arkansas State on Dec. 20 in Jonesboro, Ark.
- For the second time this season, Daniela Gonzalez leads the nation in three-point percentage, shooting 53.2 percent from downtown.
- Cordasia Harris seeks her sixth consecutive double-double, averaging 17.2 points and 11 rebounds across the last five games. Harris ranks 12th nationally in total double-doubles, of which she also leads the Sun Belt.
SCOUTING THE WARHAWKS:
- ULM hosts the Jaguars after five consecutive road games, including deficits to Mississippi State (11/30) and Alabama (12/7). Most recently, the Warhawks suffered a 79-69 loss to Texas State (12/20).
- Marcavia Shavers has proven to be a strong presence for the Warhawks, averaging 7.6 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game. J'Mani Ingram leads ULM in scoring, averaging 10.6 points per game.
- The program's head coach, Scotty Fletcher, leads the Warhawks in his first year at the helm.
