MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama Women's Basketball (5-1) will host Florida A&M (0-6) at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the Mitchell Center, ending the Jaguars' five-game homestand.
SERIES HISTORY:
The Jaguars are 9-3 against the Rattlers, their last contest a 68-65 win on Dec. 8, 2023, in Tallahassee, Fla.
SCOUTING THE JAGUARS:
- The Jaguars face the Rattlers after a 66-54 victory over Kennesaw State on Tuesday. The team was led by impressive performances by Ronaltha Marc and Daniela Gonzalez, who had perfect numbers from the field and beyond the arc, respectively.
- South Alabama is 5-1 for the season, the best start to a season in seven years. Leading the Jaguars is Daniela Gonzalez, who leads the nation in three-point percentage (61.5%).
- The Jags rank fifth in the country in three-point percentage (40.5%), the fourth consecutive week that they have ranked in the top-15.
- Graduate transfer Cordasia Harris is turning heads, ranking 17th nationally in blocks per game (2.33) and 22nd in offensive rebounds per game (22).
SCOUTING THE RATTLERS:
- Florida A&M travels to Mobile after a 0-6 start to the season, the team's recent contest a 59-75 loss on the road against Mercer.
- Breazia Robinson and Cornelia Ellington lead the Rattlers in total assists, total blocks, total steals and rebounds per game.
- The Rattlers are led by third-year head coach Bridgette Gordon, who played college basketball for the Tennessee Volunteers. During her time in Knoxville, she led the team to two NCAA Titles and played for Pat Summitt.
