MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama Women's Basketball bounced back by defeating North Florida 83-46 on Friday at the Mitch.
Diawna Carter-Hartley recorded a double-double, and four other Jaguars scored in double figures.
KEY MOMENTS:
- South Alabama recorded three-pointers at the beginning of the first, second and third quarters. Amyah Sutton made two, and Diawna Carter-Hartley made one.
- The Jaguars' backcourt limited the Ospreys to a three-minute scoring drought in the middle of the first quarter.
- In the third quarter, the Jaguars went on an impressive 15-0 run, highlighted by three-pointers from Daniela Gonzalez, Chrysta Narcisse and Miyah Holmes.
KEY STATS:
- Today's victory moves South Alabama to 3-1 for the season and 3-0 against North Florida. The +37 point differential marked the Jags' largest victory of the season and largest over the Ospreys to date.
- Diawna Carter-Hartley recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds, making her the second Jaguar to record a double-double this season.
- South Alabama recorded impressive percentages today, going 43.1 percent from the field, 37.0 percent from beyond the arc and 61.1 percent from the charity stripe.
- True freshman Jeriyah Baines had an impressive performance today, going 4-7 in field goals, 1-2 in three-pointers and 1-1 in free throws – all in eight minutes of playing time.
- Cordasia Harris recorded three steals, totaling 11 for the season. She was also 57.1 percent from the field and perfect on the charity stripe.
