• South Alabama (10-7, 5-1 SBC) enters the SBC series with Southern Miss tied with the Golden Eagles for the West Division lead
• The Jaguars are coming off a series split at Texas State over the weekend where they fell to the Bobcats in five sets in the series opener, but bounced back to take the series finale, also in five sets

Cambria Gaier continued to show why she's one of the top freshmen in the conference against Texas State as she recorded 34 kills, averaged 3.40 kills per set, while leading the club with 41.0 points and 4.10 points per set
• Gaier is averaging 3.06 kills per set, and the freshman outside hitter leads South with 27 aces and is fifth in the Sun Belt with 0.40 aces per set
• Sarah currently tied for seventh in the Sun Belt in kills (3.44), and through the first three weeks of SBC action, she is averaging just under four kills per set (3.92), which is fourth most among offensive players
• In conference play, Gooch holds a .369 hitting percentage and is also fourth in the league in points with 4.48 per set against conference foes
• Gaier has led the club offensively in 10 matches, while Gooch has paced the club offensively eight times as well
• Paced by the Jaguar duo, South Alabama holds a league-best .280 hitting percentage in conference play
