MOBILE, Ala. - Men's Golf begins their 2024-25 campaign in Choudrant, Louisiana at the 21st Argent Financial Classic. 

South returns to competition traveling to Louisiana for their first competition of the season. The Jags return to Argent Financial Classic for the ninth time, with their most recent appearance last season which saw Josh Hill's collegiate debut end in a 12th place finish, and a team finish of 15th. 

Representing South in Choudrant is junior standout Hugo Thyr, coming off back-to-back SBC individual titles, sophomores Joshua Achord and Josh Hill, junior transfer Luke Sienkiewicz, and freshman Filip Svendsen. Senior Kevin Dahlberg will compete as an individual this week. 

The Argent Financial Classic will take place at Squire Creek Country Club. It's scheduled for one round each day Sunday-Tuesday on a 7,105 yard par-72. UAB won the 2023 tournament with Louisiana and Southern Miss taking second and third place. Owen Stamper from Middle Tennessee won the individual title in 2023. 

Joining South and Louisiana Tech are Abilene Christian, Houston, North Texas, Louisiana, Rice, Middle Tennessee, UAB, Southern Miss, Nicholls, Troy, Lamar, Western Kentucky, Little Rock, Jacksonville State, and ULM.
