MOBILE, Ala. | After opening the season with a 1-1 record, South Alabama volleyball will head out on the road for the first time this fall when it heads to Houston, Texas, to compete at the Rice II Invitational. 

The Jaguars will open up play on Thursday against the host Owls with first serve set for 6 p.m. at Tudor Fieldhouse. South will then face UNLV on Friday at 1 p.m.

Live stats for both matches can be accessed on the volleyball schedule page, while the match versus Rice is the only one that will be streamed on ESPN+.

NOTES
•    This weekend's tournament marks the beginning of a eight-match road swing for South Alabama
•    The meeting with Rice will mark just the second between the two programs – the first since 1982 – and the first series meeting with UNLV
•    Abryanna Cannon leads the team in points (4.08) and kills (3.33), while being tied for sixth and eighth, respectively, in the Sun Belt in those two categories
•    As a team, South Alabama ranks fourth in the SBC in service aces (1.83)
•    Defensively, the Jags lead the league in opponent blocks (1.83) and opponent digs (10.67), and are third in opponent serves (0.83)
