MOBILE, Ala. – The Jaguars continue Sun Belt action with a pair of matches at home this weekend, welcoming in James Madison on Saturday and 2023 Sun Belt Champions Old Dominion on Sunday. First serve for both matches is at 10 a.m.
South Alabama sits at 7-2 and is coming off a 4-0 win over Arkansas State a weekend ago to open league play. In singles action, The Jaguars won five first sets over the Red Wolves, en route to their first conference win of the season. Both losses for South Alabama this season have been on the road, falling to No. 14 Auburn and Florida Atlantic.
Elysia Pool leads the Jaguar squad with seven wins this season, all from number two singles.
Tereza Dejnozkova,
Manal Ennaciri and
Delien Kleinhans all have six wins each on the season.
The doubles duo of Pool and
Tereza Dejnozkova are 6-2 so far this season, all from the number one spot.
James Madison sits at 5-5 on the year, beating App State 5-2 to open conference play last weekend, before getting a non-conference win over Drake on Sunday.
Old Dominion is ranked No. 67 in the latest ITA ranking and holds a 5-5 record this season. The Monarchs are coming off a 5-2 win over Marshall to open Sun Belt action.
South Alabama is 0-2 all-time vs James Madison, dropping both contests with the Dukes last season. The Jaguars are 5-1 all-time against Old Dominion, dropping the last matchup 0-4 in Norfolk.
