MOBILE, Ala. – The Jaguars continue their road stretch with a trip east, traveling to James Madison and Eastern Michigan. First tip in Harrisonburg is set for 6 p.m. CT, while the second round of the MAC-SBC Challenge with the Eagles is set for Saturday at 12 p.m. CT.
 
South Alabama went 1-1 over the weekend, falling at Arkansas State before earning its first conference win of the season at Texas State on Saturday. The Jaguars broke a 12-game losing streak and it was first year head coach Yolisha Jackson's first Sun Belt Conference win.
 
Kelsey Thompson matched a career-high 27 points in the win over Texas State, totaling a career-high 11 made field goals.
 
James Madison is 16-7 on the year and 8-3 in conference play, going 1-1 last week in conference action. The Dukes fell to Georgia State before beating an undefeated Marshall squad on Saturday.
 
Eastern Michigan is 5-15 this season, going 2-8 in MAC games. The Eagles have lost five in a row, and will play conference opponent Akron on Wednesday before welcoming in the Jaguars for the second round of the MAC-SBC Challenge.
 
The Jaguars won their first game of the scheduling alliance, beating Central Michigan 77-55, while Eastern Michigan fell 58-82 to Georgia Southern.

• Last week, first-year head coach Yolisha Jackson is earned her first Sun Belt Conference win. As an assistant at South Alabama from 2013-20, Yolisha Jackson earned 53 wins with the squad.
• South Alabama's win on Saturday broke a 19 game conference road game losing streak, with the last conference road win coming on Jan, 13, 2022.  
• Kelsey Thompson's 27 points vs Texas State match her career high and her 11 made field goals are a new career-high for the sophomore guard.
• Thompson also finished the afternoon with three three-pointers, matching her career high, in 38 minutes of action, a new career high.
• Thompson now leads the team with 14 double figure games this season and 29 in her career.
• Junior guard Jordan Rosier is the only Jaguar to start all 23 games this season, playing an average of 28.6 minutes per game, which is second on the team.
• In Saturday's win, Naomi Smitherman totaled a career high 6 points on three made field goals. She also played a career high 26 minutes and recorded her first career steal. 
• South Alabama has three Jags who are averaging 8+ points per game: Kelsey Thompson (12.2), Rachel Leggett (9.1, Jordan Rosier (8.7) and Michiyah Simmons (8.5).
• South has had five finish in double figures twice this season, and finished with four in double figures five times this season.
• Seven different Jaguars have led the team in scoring through 23 games, with Kelsey Thompson leading the team eight times.
• South returns 73.6% of its scoring from a year ago, including SBC Freshman of the Year Kelsey Thompson, who led the Jaguars with 10.7 points per game.

• James Madison is 16-7 on the year and 8-3 in conference play.

• Peyton McDaniel leads the team with 13.8 ppg.
• Knesiia Kozlova leads the team with 7.0 rebounds per game.
