MOBILE, Ala. – The Jaguars continue their homestand for another week, hosting Texas State on Thursday at 11 a.m., before welcoming in Southern Miss on Saturday for a 2 p.m. tip. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
 
South Alabama (7-12, 0-7) is still looking for its first conference win of the season, going 0-2 at the Mitchell Center last week, with losses to Arkansas State and Georgia State. South Alabama looks to pass their 3-15 Sun Belt record from a season ago.
 
Texas State comes into town with a 10-9 record, holding a 1-6 record in conference play. The Bobcats are on a five-game losing streak, with their lone Sun Belt win being a 67-58 win over App State. Southern Miss is 9-8 on the year, with a 2-5 conference record. South Alabama and the Lady Eagles met once already this season, with Southern Miss winning the contest 77-69 in Hattiesburg.  
 
Thursday is the annual Kids Game, while Saturday is the Play4Kay game.

• This week, first-year head coach Yolisha Jackson is looking for her first Sun Belt Conference win. As an assistant at South Alabama from 2013-20, Yolisha Jackson earned 53 wins with the squad.
• Kelsey Thompson scored 25 points vs Arkansas State last week, a new season high for the Jaguar squad.
• Thompson now leads the team with 12 double-figure games this season and 27 in her career.
• Zena Elias is the 7th in the conference with 7.4 rebounds per game.
• Emani Burks is 12th in the conference with 0.8 blocks per game.
• South Alabama is 4-6 at home, averaging 62.9 points at home versus 59.4 on the road.
• South has a -1.3 scoring margin when playing at the Mitchell Center compared to a -14.1 margin on the road.
• Junior guard Jordan Rosier is the only Jaguar to start all 19 games this season, playing an average of 28.8 minutes per game, which leads the team.
• South Alabama has four Jags who are averaging 8+ points per game: Kelsey Thompson (12.3), Jordan Rosier (9.5), Rachel Leggett (8.9), Michiyah Simmons (8.3).
• South has had five finish in double figures twice this season, and finished with four in double figures four times this season.

• Texas State is 10-9 on the season, with a 1-6 conference mark.
• Texas State is the reigning 2022-2023 regular season Sun Belt Conference champion and is coming off the program's third WNIT.
• Their lone loss in conference play is a 67-58 win over App State in Boone.
• Ja'Niah Henson leads the team in scoring with 15.2 ppg.
• Henson is the 3rd best free-throw shooter in the nation this season. She's 69-74 from the line for a 93.2%.
• Timia Jefferson also averages double figures, totaling 11.9 ogg.
• Tiffany Tullis leads the team in rebounding with 6.9 per game.
