MOBILE, Ala. - The Jaguars head to Monroe, Lou. to play in their second conference series and first on the road on Sept. 28, at 6 p.m., and Sept. 29 at 2 p.m.
South Alabama sits atop the Sun Belt West Division rankings after sweeping Southern Miss and holding the best overall record.
The Warhawks have struggled offensively early in the season, ranking in the back half of the conference in most offensive statistics, but they sit just behind South in aces/set with 1.71, and have the most total aces, with 111. ULM boasts five different players with 13 or more aces on the season so far, with Sophomore Brynn Botkin leading the pack at 26, with her aces/set ranking second in the conference at .49. Botkin also ranks second in total kills for the squad with 131, only behind Junior Logan Jeffus' 144.
OPPONENT
ULM returns home to host their first conference series of the season after going 0-2 at Texas State. The shared opponent between ULM and USA is Jackson State. ULM lost to Jackson State in five sets, while South Alabama defeated JSU 3-1 in their opening weekend. South Alabama owns a 17-7 all-time lead over ULM in a series that dates back to 1984. The Jaguars have won the last seven against the Warhawks, dating back to 2017. Last season the Jaguars swept the Warshawks 3-0, then 3-1. The Jags are 3-0 all-time against ULM under Head Coach Jesse Ortiz.
