Jack Hearn,
Jacob LeCroy,
Eli Mitchell and
Jordan Plunkett have been named to the Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholar team as announced by the organization on Wednesday.
The program was also recognized as one of 93 programs from around the country to earn All-Academic Team recognition for having a cumulative grade-point-average above 3.0, marking the 15th straight season in which it has done so.
The honor marks the second-straight year for LeCroy (second overall) and Plunkett (third overall) who were named 2022 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar team. It's also the 15th consecutive season at least one Jag has been named to the list.
To be eligible for GCAA All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
The four Jags were named among 546 other Division I student-athletes from 193 schools who earned 2022-23 GCAA All-America Scholar honors.
