MOBILE, Ala. | Hugo Thyr, fresh off winning the Sun Belt Conference individual title, was selected to play in the Auburn Regional of the NCAA Tournament at the Auburn University Club May 15-17.

The Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year was one of two individuals chosen for the tournament after firing an 8-under (208), becoming just the seventh Jag in school history to win the individual title and the first since 2013. He shot a final round 6-under (66) – tying his season-best mark for a round.

He was one of ten individuals selected to play, along with 13 teams, in the regional. He is joined by Alex Goff (Kentucky), Brantley Scott (Troy), Erik Jansson (Jacksonville State), Tobias Jonsson (Mercer), Cameron Clarke (Southern Miss), Brian Ma (Harvard), Jackson Skeen (Tennessee Tech), Luke Naglie (Arkansas State), and Killian McGinley (Fairfield).

Those individuals will be joined by Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Auburn, Colorado State, Ohio State, Washington, TCU, Chattanooga, Houston, Marquette, Indiana, Augusta, and Siena.

The regional is one of six 54-hole tournaments that will be conducted during the three-day period with the top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional advancing to the finals. Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 26-31 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale (Ariz.).
