MOBILE, Ala. – The number seven seed South Alabama women's tennis team starts postseason play Wednesday afternoon, taking on the number 10 seed Louisiana Ragin Cajuns in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. The match will begin at 5:30 p.m. CT.
South looks to win back-to-back titles, after claiming the title last season.
South Alabama and Louisiana met in the final week of the regular season, with South Alabama getting the 4-0 win over the Ragin Cajuns. South then closed the regular season with a 4-1 win over Georgia State on Sunday.
South Alabama posted a 17-5 record in the regular season, going 7-4 in conference matches. The Jags finished the regular season undefeated at home, going 10-0. South also wrapped up the season on a three-match winning streak.
The Jags are led by senior
Luminita Tutunaru, who has a 15-5 singles record this season. The Jags also have two standout freshmen in
Tereza Dejnozkova and Chems Doha Zeghouli who posted a 13-4 and 14-2 record, respectively.
