MADISON, Miss. | South Alabama joins the 13 other Sun Belt Conference teams beginning play in the conference championships at the Annandale Golf Club on Monday morning and running through Thursday.

The par-72, 7,190-yard course will play host to the championships for the first time. The Annandale Golf Club was designed by Jack Nicklaus and has played host to numerous championship events including serving as home to the PGA Tour Sanderson Farms Championship from 1994 to 2013.

The championship will begin with three rounds of stroke play starting Monday. The teams will tee off from split tees beginning at 8:30 am CT, with six teams teeing off on No. 1 and eight teams teeing off on No. 10. The top four teams from the 54-hole stroke play event will advance to match play on Thursday, April 27. The semifinal matches will begin at 8:30 am CT with the No. 1 and No. 4 seed and the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds on No. 10. The championship match will follow the conclusion of the semifinal matches on Thursday.

The Jags enter the week with a team stroke average of 292.25 per round and enter after having finished second in match play this past week in Saucier (Miss.). During that play, Jack Hearn won both of his matches and leads the team with a 72.6 average on the season with one top-10 finish and three top-20 finishes. Jordan Plunkett enters championship play at 72.8 with one top-10 and one top-20 finish to his credit this spring. Hugo Thyr (73.2), Will Skipp (73.3), and Jacob LeCroy (73.4) will look to lead the Jags into Match Play at the end of the week.

The Jags will be paired with Texas State and James Madison in the opening round with Thyr going off first at 9:15 am on No. 1, followed by Skipp at 9:24 am. They will be followed by LeCroy (9:33 am), Plunkett (9:42 am), and Hearn (9:51 am) in the opening round.

Among current Sun Belt Conference members, South Alabama has won the most Sun Belt Men's Golf Championships with 10. Louisiana has captured three titles, Georgia Southern (the defending champion) and Troy each have two.
