MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama continued Sun Belt play with a dominant 7-0 sweep of Arkansas State on the road Saturday.
South struck first with a win at number two doubles, where
Nikola Novotna and
Elysia Pool beat
Anna Borovinskaya and Rebecca Brody 6-0. The Jags secured the doubles point with a win number three, where
Otoha Aoki and
Chems Doha Zeghlouli issued a 6-2 defeat to Yasmine Humbert and Abigail Thurme.
Elysia Pool struck first with a win at number three beating Sofia Vdovychenko 6-3, 6-0 to give South the 2-0 lead.
Nikola Novotna gave the Jaguars the 3-0 lead with a win at number two, beating Rebecca Brody of Arkansas State 6-4, 6-4.
Senior
Luminita Tutunaru clinched the win for South, earning her 11
th win of the season with a comeback 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 win over Sarah Millard.
South took a 5-0 advantage with a win from
Tereza Dejnozkova, where she beat Anna Borovinskaya in straight sets 6-0, 6-1.
Delien Kleinhans gave the Jaguars the 6-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-3 win at number four, beating Abigail Thurmer of Arkansas State.
South secured the 7-0 sweep with a win at number six, where
Chems Doha Zeghlouli got a 6-4, 6-1 win over Arkansas State's Yasmine Humbert.
The Jags (12-1, 2-0) continue conference play next weekend, as they travel to Old Dominion and James Madison for matches on Saturday and Sunday, both at 10 a.m.
