MOBILE, Ala. – The undefeated South Alabama women's tennis team travels to the Sunshine State this weekend, for matches at Florida Atlantic on Friday at 9 a.m. and North Florida Saturday at 10 a.m.
This road trip closes out nonconference play for the Jags, as they will return home next weekend for matches against Troy and Georgia State.
South is now 10-0 on the season, getting a 5-2 win over Murray State last Saturday and a 4-3 win over Samford on Sunday.
South's 10-0 start to the season is the best start since 2019 when the Jags posted a 10-0 record before dropping their first match to No. 16 LSU.
Florida Atlantic is 3-9 on the season and has dropped six matches in a row, with the latest being a 0-7 loss at Rice. North Florida is 5-4 on the year, with their last outing being a tight 4-3 loss at the hands of No. 5 Auburn.
In South's last time out, the Jags posted a 4-3 win over Samford, where the team earned wins on three singles courts after securing the double's point.
Luminita Tutunaru improved to 9-1 on the season with a win at number two, while
Elysia Pool and
Tereza Dejnozkova also earned singles wins.

Otoha Aoki are perfect in singles this season, with Dejnozkova posting a 7-0 record and Aoki going 5-0.
South and Florida Atlantic met last season, with FAU coming out with a 4-0 win in Boca Raton. South is 2-2 all-time against the Owls and is 1-2 in Boca Raton.
The Jags and the Ospreys of North Florida last met in 2021, with South falling 1-6 in the contest. The Jaguars lead the series against North Florida 10-4 and are 5-2 against the Ospreys in Jacksonville, Fla.
