MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama women's basketball looks to get back in the win column this week with a pair of home games, welcoming ULM on Thursday at 11 a.m. and Louisiana on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Jags (5-18, 1-11) dropped both games over the weekend, losing to Sun Belt newcomers James Madison and Southern Miss.
ULM (6-16, 3-9) also had a 0-2 weekend, dropping contests at Louisiana and Texas State. Louisiana posted a 1-1 record in week six, with a win over the Warhawks and a loss at the hands of Troy.
Freshman
Kelsey Thompson posted a career-high 27 points the last time the Jags met ULM, but dropped the contest 65-69. South is looking to avoid the season sweep from both the Warhawks and the Ragin Cajuns.
South Alabama was picked to finish 13
th in the Sun Belt, with ULM picked at No. 14 and Louisiana coming in at third.
The Jags and Warhawks are meeting for the 32
nd time, with South leading the series 21-10. South and Louisiana are meeting for the 61
st time, and South tops the Ragin Cajuns 40-20 in the series.
Thursday's game is the annual "Pack the House Kid's Game" and free shakers will be given away. Saturday's game is the Mardi Party game and there will be a king cake giveaway, as well as moon pie and bead tosses.
