MOBILE, Ala. – The No. 13 seed South Alabama Jaguars open play at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., taking on the No. 12 seed Georgia State Panthers.
 
The teams met in the regular season in January, with Georgia State winning the matchup 66-57 in overtime.
 
The Jags (7-22, 3-15) went 1-1 in the final week of regular season play, dropping their contest against Georgia Southern but beating in-state rival Troy on a buzzer-beater by freshman Kelsey Thompson.
 
Georgia State (11-20, 5-13) dropped both games in their final week of play, falling to Coastal Carolina and Georgia Southern.
 
The Jags and the Panthers have met just once in postseason play, with South coming out on top 49-44 in the the first round of the 2017 Sun Belt Conference tournament.
 
The Hercules Tires Sun Belt Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Championships will take place from February 28-March 6 at the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, with prices ranging from $15 to $60 for adults and $5 to $30 for children 12 years and younger.
