MOBILE, Ala. – The South Alabama women's tennis team will open its 2023 fall campaign this weekend, traveling to Baton Rouge for the ITA Southern Regionals, hosted by LSU in Baton Rouge.
Tournament play will begin Thursday and run through Tuesday, Oct. 10.
Players returning to the squad from a season ago are
Otoha Aoki,
Tereza Dejnozkova,
Chems Doha Zeghlouli,
Delien Kleinhans,
Nikola Novotna,
Elysia Pool and
Lara van der Merwe, who was on the roster in 2022 but not a season ago. Newcomers include transfer
Tianna Dixon and freshman
Manal Ennaciri.
The Jags were 18-6 a year ago, going 7-4 in conference matches. South fell in the quarterfinals of the SBC to newcomer James Madison.
