Jaguars host James Madison Thursday, travel to Southern Miss on Saturday

MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama women's basketball looks to get back in the win column this week with games against two Sun Belt newcomers, hosting James Madison on Thursday and traveling to Southern Miss on Saturday.
 
The Jags (5-16, 1-9) dropped both games in week five of conference play, losing at Troy and ULM.
 
James Madison (17-5, 7-3) also had a 0-2 week, dropping contests at Coastal Carolina and at Georgia State. Southern Miss (14-7, 7-3) posted a 1-1 record last week, beating Arkansas State 68-59 and falling to Texas State 52-62.
 
South Alabama was picked to finish 13th in the Sun Belt, with James Madison picked to finish 6th and Southern Miss coming in at No. 4.
 
The Jags and the Dukes are meeting for the first time, while South and Southern Miss are meeting for the 36th time, with Southern Miss winning the last three match ups.

The Jaguars are hosting a "Girls and Women in Sports" game Thursday night. Free rally towels will be available at the north and south entrances.
