HATTIESBURG, Miss. – South Alabama volleyball fell to Southern Miss in five sets Saturday at USM Wellness Center.
USA (7-7, 1-1 SBC) split the two-match weekend series with the Golden Eagles after taking Friday's opener in four sets. The Jaguars took Saturday's opening set 25-19 before Southern Miss evened the match with a 25-23 win in set two. The Golden Eagles took a 2-1 lead with a 25-22 win in set three, but USA tied the match 2-2 with a 25-12 win in the fourth set. Southern Miss won the match with a 16-14 win in the fifth set.
Hannah Maddux recorded a team-high 23 kills, while
Rachel Hickey led the team with 18 digs.
Kailey Keeble recorded her 11th double-double of the season with 47 assists and 12 digs, in addition to four kills and four blocks. It marked her 30th career double-double of the season.
Niki Capizzi finished with 14 kills, a .393 hitting percentage, four service aces, six digs and two blocks.

South Alabama will return to action Fri., Sept. 30, when it hosts ULM at 6 p.m. at Jag Gym.
