All-Time Series
• South Alabama owns a 31-20 all-time lead over Southern Miss in a series that dates back to 1975. The Jaguars have won five straight matches against the Golden Eagles, dating back to 2016, entering the series. USM last defeated USA in 2015 with a five-set victory in Hattiesburg. The Jags are 1-0 all-time against Southern Miss under head coach Jesse Ortiz after a four-set win last season in Jacksonville, Ala.

• Outside hitter Hannah Maddux was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, marking the first time in her career she has earned the honor. Maddux totaled 56 kills and a .311 hitting percentage in three matches, averaging 5.60 kills per set in 10 sets played in last weekend's Jaguar Invitational.
• South Alabama ranks third nationally in team attacks per set (38.91), and 18th in digs per set (16.75).
• South Alabama leads the Sun Belt Conference in digs per set (16.75), ranks second in total digs (737), third in kills (580), kills per set (13.18), assists (533), assists per set (12.11) and fourth in total blocks (94).
• Outside hitter Maddie Soboleski ranks eighth nationally in attacks per set (12.59), and 24th in total attacks (516).
• Soboleski ranks third in the SBC in kills (161), kills per set (3.93) and average points per set (4.45), and fourth in total points (182.5).
• Setter Kailey Keeble ranks second in the league in assists (454), which ranks 29th nationally, and third in assists per set (10.32). She also ranks seventh in digs per set (3.93), and eighth in total digs (173).
• Maddux ranks fifth in the conference in kills (151), and eighth in kills per set (3.43). She also ranks sixth in total points (171.5), and eighth in average points per set (3.90).
• Middle blocker Niki Capizzi ranks fifth in the SBC in hitting percentage (.356).
• Libero Rachel Hickey ranks sixth in the league in digs per set (4.00), and tied for ninth in total digs (172). Hickey eclipsed the career 1,000-dig mark at South Alabama in a Sept. 9 loss to Kennesaw State in Starkville, Miss.
• Keeble recorded double-doubles in two of three matches in last weekend's Jaguar Invitational to bring her season total to nine. She enters the weekend with 28 career doubles, which ranks third all-time at South Alabama.
• Keeble was named the Sun Belt Conference Setter of the Week on Sept. 6 after totaling 141 assists, 50 digs, one service ace, five block-assists and one solo block in three matches at the SFA Invitational Sept. 2-3 in Nacogdoches, Texas. It marked the third time in her career she has received the honor after earning the award twice last season.
• The Jaguars recorded a season-high 14 total blocks in last weekend's three-set win over Ole Miss, which marked the most since posting 14 blocks against Texas State in last year's SBC Championship final.
• USA finished with a season-best .339 hitting percentage in last Saturday's sweep of Eastern Kentucky with 50 kills and 12 errors on 112 total attacks. It marked the Jags' highest percentage since Oct. 19 of last season when they posted a .375 hitting percentage at Troy.
• South Alabama has won two of its last three Sun Belt Conference openers dating back to 2019. The Jags swept UT Arlington in Mobile in last year's conference opener. The last loss in a league opener came in five sets to Troy on Oct. 1, 2020.
