MOBILE, Ala. | South Alabama opens the men's golf fall season on Sunday on the road at nearby Louisiana Tech in the 10th annual Jim Rivers Intercollegiate featuring 23 teams on Sept. 11 (running through Sept. 13).
The host Bulldogs lead a field that includes South Alabama, defending tournament champion No. 21 LSU, UTSA, Houston, SMU, North Texas, Rice, Nicholls, Francis Marion, Southern Miss, Oral Roberts, ULM, Louisiana, Abilene Christian, Troy, Middle Tennessee, Lamar, Kennesaw State, High Point, Central Arkansas, and Missouri State.
The event will be held at the Squire Creek Golf Course featuring an 18-hole championship course designed by Tom Fazio. The 7,105-yard, par 72 course is ranked as the No. 1 golf course in the state of Louisiana and was ranked as one of the top 10 best new courses in America by Golf Digest in 2003 after its opening.
The tournament kicks off at 7:30 am on Sunday on Hole 10, followed by round two at the same time. Play concludes on Tuesday with an 8 am start on Holes 1 and 10.
