MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women's tennis team fell to UTA 4-0 at the UTA Tennis Center on Saturday.  

The Mavericks earned the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. The team went on to win on singles courts four, five and six for the win.

- The loss is South Alabama's first of the series with UTA. 
- It also snapped South's five match win streak and undefeated conference record. 
- The last time the Jags were shut out was to FAU earlier this month.

- On today's performance: "I have to give credit to UTA. They jumped on us at the start of doubles and whipped us real good today. It is somewhat disappointing that we could not change momentum but over the course of a season you sometimes run into a red-hot team and take a beating. I actually believe this could be a turning point for us. This should lead to us playing more freely and not as tentative as we have been even though we have had great success so far. We will have to lick our wounds and process today quickly and get ready for another challenge in the morning. "
