GAME FACTS

- Nine of the Jags points came from three pointers scored by Haymer, Vaught and Janelle Jones respectively.
- After tying the score at 16 in the 60 seconds of the second quarter, both teams were scoreless for the following three minutes.
- The teams resumed trading buckets, however, the Mountaineers secured the halftime lead (29-25) with a three pointer from Dane Bertolina.
- App State extended its lead to as much as 20 in the third quarter with the help of six three pointers in the 10 minute span.
- The Mountaineer defense held South Alabama to only 10 points for the period to go into the fourth quarter with a 53-35 advantage over the Jags.
- Jaylin Powell narrowed South's deficit to 13 with a three point play with six minutes left on the clock, however, App State went on a 12 point run for its largest lead of the day at 25 points.
- In the final minute of the contest Haymer and Tyrielle Willams made a last ditch effort by adding six more points for the Jags but ultimately the team fell to the Mountaineers.

NOTES
- After splitting last season's four contests, App State extended its win streak over South to two games.
- The contest marks the regular season finale for both teams who will travel to Pensacola for the Sun Belt Conference tournament on Wednesday.
- South has now lost nine straight games, marking head coach Terry Fowler's second longest losing streak while at the helm of the Jaguars.
- With four blocks the Jags tied its second-best total for the fourth time this season.
- Haymer's scoring total was the most of her Division I career, surpassing her last best figure of 15 against Mercer in November.
- This is the sixth straight occasion Vaught has led her team in assists and the seventh game she has recorded five or more.
- The senior also accounted for half of the Jags three-point field goals with three, tying her career high set at Georgia Southern earlier this season.

THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Terry Fowler

- Opening Statement: "I thought we got off to a really good start and executed our game plan defensively. The first half was as good as we could expect. They finished off the half with a 4-0 run. We came out in the second half down five, then hit three straight threes in the transition. I thought we kind of hung our heads but then we responded back and tried to make it a game. Again, our struggle all year has been rebounding. We didn't get enough second chances. I do credit our kids for fighting and they kept going. That's something we have learned and I think we showed some growth in that area today. It's the end of the regular season but we still have some opportunities to take advantage of as we open up the first round of the tournament. We have to have a good two days of practice going into Pensacola.
