Opening Tip
- In January the Jags suffered a 77-69 loss to Georgia Southern in Statesboro. 
- Georgia Southern has now won three consecutive games over South Alabama to give the Eagles its longest streak of the series.
- South's last win over Georgia Southern in the Mitchell Center was Jan. 1, 2021 with a score of 71-65.
-South has won seven of the last 10 meetings with Georgia Southern.

Last time with Georgia Southern 
- The Jags had just 10 turnovers, tying its second lowest number of the season which was last set against Auburn-Montgomery on Nov. 15, 2021.
- South was able to score 26 points from the bench, its highest figure against a conference opponent this season, compared to Georgia Southern's 11.
- For the seventh time this season South had less than 30 rebounds for the game. 
- It is also the third straight game the team has shot less than 40 percent from the field, a feat that has happened twice before this season.
- This is the first contest since the record-tying game against Faulkner on Dec. 14 that South has recorded more than 10 three-point field goals.
- USA recorded its lowest number of free throws (8) since the start of conference play.
- Kiana Anderson was responsible for half of her team's free throws as she was perfect from the line, going 4-for-4, giving her the most free throws of her career.
- The game also marked the third straight game Anderson has led the team in blocks with a total of two.

Notes from Troy
- South Alabama's second loss to Troy this season gives the Trojans six straight wins in the series, leaving them one win shy of matching its longest streak in the overall series. 
- The last time South had five consecutive losses was in the 2017-18 season when the squad lost all but one game in February. 
- South committed 24 turnovers in the contest marking a new season high. 
- Troy, who leads the country in free throws, added 21 to its total for 440 this season while the Jags matched its season low of four free throws. 
- This is the third time this season South has recorded double digit three-point field goals with today's total at 10, double its opponent's total. 
- The contest marks Jaylin Powell's fourth time this season to record 20 or more points with the last occasion against Louisiana alongside Nadia Howard. 
- Tyrielle Williams has now connected on two three pointers for the past four games, matching her career high each time.
- Destiny Samuel matched her best rebounding total, last set at Alabama State in November, giving her the most of any Jag. 
- For the third time this season Mahogany Vaught surpassed five assists with a total of six leaving her one shy of her career best.
