Jaguar women’s basketball returns home to host Alabama State on Saturday

MOBILE, Ala. – South Alabama women's basketball looks to stay in the win column this weekend with a matchup against Alabama State Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Mitchell Center. 

The game is the third of four games in eight days for the Jags. South faced LA Tech on Dec. 12, Nicholls on Dec. 14 and will host Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 20. 
 
South Alabama and Alabama State met season, with the Lady Hornets winning the matchup 59-69. The Jags lead the series between the teams 23-6 and are 4-1 under head coach Terry Fowler. South is undefeated at home against Alabama State.
 
South (3-6) is coming off a 74-73 win against Nicholls, which saw three Jags in double figures, with Kelsey Thompson pacing South with 19 points. Jordan Rosier had 15 points and Nadia Howard had 12 in the win.
 
Alabama State (1-8) is coming off a loss against Jacksonville State, where two Lady Hornets recorded twenty-point games.
 
Saturday's game is the first of the final two nonconference games for South Alabama before conference play starts Dec. 29.
