ÅKERSBERGA, Sweden – Kevin Dahlberg, who is set to join the University of South Alabama men's golf team officially later this month, will be entering school coming off a runner-up performance following his results at the JSM Match Play last weekend.

The native of Skanör, Sweden, advanced to the finals of the tournament with three wins in two days at the Österåker Golf Club.

Dahlberg opened play on Saturday with a 1 up victory over Sebastian Nilsson, returning that afternoon to defeat Didrik Ringvall Bengtsson by the same margin in the quarterfinals.  On Sunday, he earned a win over Hampus Wijkström — who competed as a freshman at Augusta last season — in the semifinals before falling 3 & 2 to Nils Svanberg in the championship match of the event.

The result was Dahlberg's best of the summer.

Classes begin at South on Tuesday, Aug. 17, with the Jaguars slated to return to competition in September.
