JAGUAR MARCHING BAND SET FOR HOME, TROY FOOTBALL GAMES THIS FALL

8/19/2021 8:33:00 AM

MOBILE, Ala. – Per Sun Belt Conference Covid-19 regulations, marching bands and spirit groups will be permitted on the field during the upcoming 2021 football season.  While the University of South Alabama Jaguar Marching Band will take advantage of that opportunity throughout the fall, the Department of Athletics announced Thursday that no visiting team's bands will be performing in Hancock Whitney Stadium this year.

Bands from each of the six schools set to visit the Jaguars over the next three months were offered the chance to play under current guidelines but declined the invitation.

The Jaguar football team plays host to Southern Miss (Saturday, Sept. 4) and Alcorn State (Saturday, Sept. 18) the opening month of the season, with 2021 Sun Belt opponents coming to Mobile including Louisiana, Georgia Southern, Arkansas State and Coastal Carolina.

In addition to playing at those contests, the Jaguar Marching Band will also be joining the team in Troy when South visits the Trojans on Saturday, Nov. 6 in the annual "Battle For The Belt."
