SOUTH MEN’S GOLF TEAM HONORED AGAIN BY COACHES ASSOCIATION

7/23/2021 1:18:00 PM

NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Friday that the University of South Alabama men's golf team has earned All-Academic honors, marking the 13th year in a row the Jaguars have been recognized by the organization.

Highlighted by the trio of Eli Mitchell, Connor Reid and Yannick Schütz, who each recorded a 4.0 grade-point average, six members of the program finished with at least 3.0 GPA during the 2020-21 academic year as Jacob LeCroy, Kyle Robinson and Jordan Plunkett all posted a mark above a 3.5 in the fall and spring semesters.

In competition last year, the Jags had a pair of runner-up finishes — at both the season-opening Jim Rivers Intercollegiate as well as the Craft Farms Intercollegiate — while placing among the top 10 at two other events.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list and have a mark of 3.0 or higher during the academic year.
