PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – The University of South Alabama women's tennis team dominated in singles play to defeat Troy 4-1 on Friday morning at the Peachtree City Tennis Center in Peachtree City, Ga.

The Jaguars made the first move as Yu Fujioka and Nikola Kohoutova beat Michelle Ncube and Andrea Widing on court two. The Trojans responded with wins on courts one and three to take a 1-0 lead. 

After dropping the doubles point, South came in hot in singles as Otoha Aoki picked up a quick 6-0, 6-2 win over Troy's Kristina Kukaras on court five. Shortly afterward, Fujioka and Cami Moreno gave the Jags a 3-1 lead after defeating their opponents on courts one and three. Kohoutova then clinched the match for USA with her 6-3, 6-4 win over Trojan Anastasii Khokhlova on court two.

- Fujioka and Kohoutova improved to an overall 9-4 record as a doubles pair, extending their winning streak to three matches at No. 2. 
- Aoki remains undefeated at court five after recording her ninth consecutive singles victory.
- Fujioka advanced to 13-4 overall in singles play, with 12 of her singles victories coming at the No. 1 position.
- Moreno earned his first singles win at court two, improving her overall record to 5-5 in singles action.
- Kohoutova posted her seventh consecutive singles victory, with her win coming in straight sets.
- Aoki, Fujioka and Moreno also recorded singles wins in straight sets.
- The Jaguars have won the last nine matches against the Trojans since Troy's last victory in 2013.
