MOBILE, Ala. – Alabama's Safer at Home order expired on April 9 and the statewide mandate requiring face masks was not extended. However, the University of South Alabama Department of Athletics will continue ongoing COVID-19 precautions — including required face masks — at all home events for the rest of the spring season.
Dating back to the start of the 2020-21 season, Jaguar Athletics has required masks be worn by fans while limiting capacity at all venues in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. South will continue to enforce the mandate per the University's decision to not modify requirements at USA campuses and facilities in an effort to continue to promote the health and safety of student-athletes, coaches, administrative staff and fans.
In addition to home events for the school's baseball and softball programs, South will also play host the football team's annual spring game on Saturday as well as the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship during the remainder of the spring season.
