THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Nick Brochu
- On doubles: "We started strong, and we broke UAB on all three courts. We dominated at No.3, and it was a quick match; it gave us the doubles win right away. We were able to put a lot of pressure on the other two courts. On court one, we played very aggressive tennis, and we hit the right shot at the right time. They were playing a good team, but we did awesome in doubles.
- On singles: "In the beginning, it was great. It was a very close match at No. 5, but we finished strong. We started dominating on courts one, two, three and four right away, and then at No. 6, we made a comeback. When we clinched the match, No. 4 and 5 were still in the second set, so we split them, and that's why we went into a super tiebreaker at the end. UAB made a comeback at No. 2 by winning the second set, but in the end, South Alabama finished strong in the tiebreaker (10-6 and 10-5). We had great momentum throughout the match. UAB put up a fight towards the end, but we took over again."
