- It was the fourth occasion this season that South has forced the opposition into 20 or more turnovers.
- USA's 18 first-half points — the Jags scored nine in each of the first two periods — were their fewest of the year, as was its final total.
- It was the fourth outing in a row that Shaforia Kines led the Jaguars in scoring, the longest streak of her career.
- Devyn Lowe equaled season highs both in scoring (12) and three-point field goals (4) — both originally recorded in a win over Tennessee State on Nov. 30.
- The game marked the sixth straight in which Savannah Jones had scored double figures after finishing with 11 points against USM, with the redshirt junior guard averaging 6.3 rebounds per contest during that span after adding six against the Lady Eagles.

Notes from the Alabama State
- South Alabama had just four free throws for the game, its lowest of the season, compared to ASU's 16.
- The Jags had no blocked shots against Alabama State, which they have not done since their loss to Auburn in 2019. 
- Of South's 27 rebounds, just eight were on the offensive glass, also a season low total. 
- Destiny Samuel recorded a season-high eight boards for the contest, tying Alabama State's Tamia Stalling for game-high honors. 
- Tyrielle Williams led South in assists for the fourth time this season with three for the contest. 
- This game was the second consecutive outing in which Dee Haymer led South Alabama in scoring. 
- Mahogany Vaught paced the club defensively in steals with three, marking the fourth time she has led the team in the category in 2020.
