Opening Tip
• The Jaguars aim to equal a season high with their third straight win.
• South ended the Mountaineers' three-game win streak in the series when it claimed this season's first match-up Jan. 2 in the Sun Belt Conference opener for both programs.
• It was the first time — dating back to an APP 54-41 win in Mobile on Feb. 18, 2017, a stretch that included four games — that the two teams played a contest decided by a double-digit margin.
• App State has won the last two meetings in Boone, with the Jaguars' last road win in the series a 68-54 decision on Feb. 18, 2016.
• The two programs have split 10 match-ups since the Mountaineers joined the Sun Belt prior to the start of the 2014-15 season.

Dynamite Defensive Performance
In South's 73-39 victory at ULM last time out, the Warhawks shot 11-of-48 (22.9 percent) from the floor overall — that including making just 16.7 percent (4-of-24) in the second half — and 3-of-16 (18.8 percent) from beyond the three-point arc; the point, field goal and field-goal percentage figures were the lowest recorded by an opponent so far in 2019-20, while the three-pointers made equalled the low total surrendered this winter.  The Jaguars last limited a league foe below 40 points on Feb. 13, 2013, when they defeated Louisiana 53-39 at the Mitchell Center, while it was the first time USA has given up fewer than 40 points away from home in conference action since recording a 55-39 win at New Orleans on Jan. 31, 2007.

A Dozen Double-Doubles
Antoinette Lewis recorded game-high totals with 18 points, 11 rebounds and two steals in just 23 minutes of action at Monroe, posting her 12th double-double of the campaign and fifth in the last six outings.  It was the 25th occasion in her career that she has paced USA in scoring and the 15th in which she has led all players in the category as she moved past Denise Adams (1984-87) into 17th place on the program's all-time scoring list.  The junior center added a pair of blocks as well to become the fifth individual to surpass 150 in school history.

Front And Centers
Senior Kennedi Centers averaged 9.5 points and six boards per game in last week's victories after tying a career high — last recorded in the second round of the WNIT at Wyoming on March 24 a year ago — with 12 points against the Warhawks, and she matched another career best after posting four blocked shots on the defensive end of the floor.  The forward has scored in double figures in two of the last four contests after accomplishing the feat just once in her first 13 appearances this season.

Damaya With The Dish
The ULM win marked the second game in a row that guard Damaya Telemaque has recorded a season-high assist total after the sophomore led all players with six — one more than the Warhawks were credited with as a team — to go along with seven points and five rebounds.  It's the first time that Telemaque has posted five or more assists in consecutive outings since turning the trick in three straight victories (including defeats of Louisiana and ULM) from Jan. 19-26 last season.

Additional Notes From The ULM Game
• It was the first time South has won a Sun Belt contest by 20-plus points since defeating the Warhawks 77-49 in Mobile on Jan. 26 last season, and the first occasion it has accomplished the feat on the road since recording a 74-44 victory at ULM on Feb. 11, 2017.
• The Jaguars matched a season low in turnovers while finishing with less than 10 miscues for the fourth time this season, although it was the first occasion they have turned the trick in Sun Belt play this year.
• USA finished with a rebounding edge for the second straight game, the first time it has done so in consecutive outings since achieving the feat in four straight contests from Jan. 4-16.
• Shaforia Kines has now recorded 10 or more points in 18 games this season, tied for most on the team.
• Devyn Lowe fell one point shy of reaching double figures for the first since tying a season high with 12 points at Southern Mississippi on Dec. 15.

Notes From The Last App State Meeting
• Kines recorded the first of two double-doubles this season, with the last of her 24 points giving her 1,000 in her career.
• Savannah Jones posted 20-plus points in consecutive outings for the first time since Jan. 26 and Feb. 2, 2019.
• Jala Buster missed matching her career high scoring total by one point, with eight of her 12 coming in coming in the final two-and-a-half minutes of the first quarter to break open a one-point contest.
• It was the first time since defeating Louisiana 83-60 on Jan. 24, 2019, that the Jaguars shot 50 percent or better from three-point range.
• South's free-throw percentage that night is still the best the team has recorded during the 2019-20 campaign.
