Opening Tip
• The Jaguars go on the road for the first time this season.
• It's the first of two straight contests away from home to wrap up the non-conference schedule for South.
• This will be the latest that the Jags will make their road debut since the program's inaugural season, when USA first played away from home on Jan. 10, 1975, at Troy.
• It's the eighth year in a row that the Jaguars will play at least one opponent from the Southeastern Conference prior to the start of Sun Belt Conference action.
• South's last win over an SEC school came in a 72-67 decision at Alabama on Dec. 5, 2018.

Auburn Series Notes
• The two schools played at least once every season from the inception of the sport at South in 1974-75 through the 1998-99 campaign.
• Last year's match-up at the Mitchell Center was the first between the programs in nine years.
• It's the second time since 2000 that the Jaguars and Tigers have played a home-and-home series; Auburn claimed both contests in December 2009 and '10.
• The only other meeting since the turn of the century came when AU earned a 77-53 victory at the Mitchell Center on March 19, 2003, in the opening round of the WNIT.
• South's loss in the last game at Auburn — a 75-70 decision — was the closest match-up in the series since the Tigers won 49-48 at home on Dec. 4, 1982.

Leader Of The Pack
Mahogany Vaught posted 14 points last time out in the Jaguars' win over William Carey, making it the first time in her career that she has been the leading scorer for both the Jaguars and all players; the junior has now eclipsed the double-digit mark in each of the last three games after accomplishing the feat once her first two seasons with the program.  Vaught's three assists and two three-point field goals were season-high totals — she actually matched a career high first set at Georgia State on Jan. 16 last season in the latter category — while she has posted multiple steals in three of the last four outings dating back to South's final appearance of the 2019-20 campaign.

Center Coming On
After recording a single-digit point total in each of her first 20 contests at the collegiate level, C Jadona Davis has now scored in double figures in back-to-back games after finishing with a career-best 12 in the victory over the Lady Crusaders.  That wasn't the only personal best the junior transfer posted last time out, as she nearly doubled her previous high after grabbing five rebounds, while also adding her first blocked shot as a Jaguar.

Chart Climbing With Lewis
With a game-high three blocks in the WCU win, Antoinette Lewis moved into fourth place all-time at South while jumping two positions to enter the top 15 in the Sun Belt's all-time rankings in the category; she passed South Alabama Athletics Hall of Fame member Adrian Vickers (1987-90) on both lists.  Although the forward/center was limited to a season low seven points, that total was enough to pass teammate Savannah Jones and enter the top 10 on the school's career scoring list as well.

Additional Notes From The WCU Game
• It was the first time South has held an opponent without a double-figure scorer since a victory over Georgia State on Dec. 29, 2017.
• It also marked the second occasion during the Jags' season-opening four-game homestand that the opposition shot less than 30 percent from the field.
• South's three-point field-goal percentage was its highest of the year thus far.
• Jaylen Mallard scored in double figures for the first time since Nov. 26 a season ago, coming up one point shy of matching her total recorded against Mobile that day.
• Senior Jayla Morrow registered season-high totals in rebounds and assists, leading the Jags in the latter category for the first time since the regular-season finale last year.

Notes From The Last Auburn Meeting
• Auburn's 32 field goals matched the most given up by the Jaguars last season.
• The Tigers' 50-percent mark from three-point range also equalled the highest allowed by South in 2019-20.
• USA connected on 10 three-point field goals for the first time last season in the match-up, a feat they would go on to accomplish on 12 other occasions.
• It was the only time last year that the Jags failed to block at least one shot.
• Lewis recorded her first double-double in four games — a stretch covering nearly three weeks — after leading all players on the boards.
