11/9/2020 5:15:00 PM

PAPHOS, Cyprus – Former University of South Alabama men's golfer Jonny Caldwell tied for 16th place at the Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Showdown over the weekend.

It was his third top-20 performance in the last four weeks as he now sits just outside the top 100 of the European Tour's Race to Dubai standings.

The Northern Ireland native fired a 7-under-par 64 in the second round at the par-71 Aphrodite Hills Resort to make the cut on Friday, and he followed up with a 67 the next day on the way to recording a 9-under-par 275 72-hole total.

Caldwell has now made the cut at nine of the last 10 events he's played dating back to the Celtic Classic in August, highlighted by top-10 results at both the Scottish Championship presented by AXA and the Italian Open.  For the season, he has a 70.89 scoring average and is among the top 15 on the tour with fewer than 29 putts per round.
